2018 Sauvignon Blanc
We aim to produce a well flavoured, crisp dry Sauvignon Blanc with the attractive fruit characters typical of the variety and designed for current drinking.
We had as near to perfect conditions in 2018, a winemaker’s dream with textbook fine days and cool nights, no untoward weather events, no disease, no birds = an excellent season! All the fruit is from Mt Barker; we harvested over a ~10 day period to achieve a balance between the crisp herbaceousness of the early picked fruit with the more tropical flavours from the slightly riper fruit. Only the free run juice was used and fermented at cool temperatures, retaining all the natural fruit flavours.
Super fresh and pungent with light tropical fruit characters of passionfruit, kiwifruit and ripe pear.
Quite fresh and zesty! The light tropical fruit flavours are well tempered by the tangy acidity. It has a nice weight on the palate and considerable length of flavour; the delicious crisp acidity contributing to its long clean finish. A fruity, crisp dry wine that can be enjoyed as an aperitif or serve well chilled with just about anything.
This Sauvignon Blanc is designed for current drinking; simply chill and enjoy!
