A very worthy new vintage, we’re very pleased to be releasing our 2017 Rose, again made entirely from Sangiovese. This small parcel of fruit was sourced from a vineyard near Bunbury in the Geographe region of WA’s South West. Perfect for a Rose, the fruit had just a few hours skin contact so the juice could pick up a light touch of colour, before fermenting to dryness at cool temperatures. Bottling early has ensured maximum freshness of flavour.
A very pretty, light pink with excellent brightness.
Is lightly perfumed with delicate fruit characters, light floral notes and a hint of talc.
This is in the ‘Mediterranean’ style of Rose, being light & flavoursome and more textural & savoury, rather than being overtly fruity. It has subtle strawberry fruit flavours and some ‘cherry stone’ characters with a lovely mouthfeel, good acidity and a very light touch of tannin astringency providing a pleasing dry finish.
Best to drink as a young wine, we recommend storing in the fridge just until it’s chilled! Perfect on a sunny day, with or without food.
