2016 WA Pinot Noir

This is a multi-region Pinot Noir with 2/3rds of the fruit from the Great Southern and approximately 1/3rd grown in Margaret River. A much smaller percentage (8%) was from Pemberton. Some of the parcels of grapes were from relatively young vines; as they tend to have more delicate fruit characters they are particularly well suited to this lighter, more approachable style of wine.

Colour

A bright cherry red. 

AROMA

Complex, light cherry fruit aromas with a slight spiciness. Has hints of exotic, smoky black tea characters. 

PALATE

This is an attractive, light-medium bodied Pinot with good texture and good palate weight. Has lightly spiced cherry fruit flavours typical of this variety and hints of sweet cocoa with gentle tannins on the finish. 

CELLARING

As this is a lighter style of Pinot Noir it can be enjoyed now with any type of food while it will also handle an extra year or two in the bottle and develop further complexity. Serve lightly chilled on a warm day.
